Specify the right Stretched-Fabric Wall System... Tech-Wall the budget-friendly solution replacing other higher priced Fabric Mounting Tracks.

Almost unlimited sizes shapes can be accomplished with little or no lead-time when specifying a Tech-Wall “Stretched Fabric Wall System”. This section will provide you with valuable information on the materials recommended for use with each Track system. Being a Site Fabricated Track System there are no limits on the lengths of panels. With standard pre-made fabric or vinyl wrapped panels you have a vertical panel joint every 4 feet. With Tech-Wall’s “Stretched Fabric Wall System “Panel sizes 100 feet and above are common! Now with the use of our ULTRASONIC bonding process we are no longer limited by the width of the coverings, a 20’x10’ wall can be done in one panel this increases the cost savings by reducing the amount of intermediate track needed.

(1 Inch) Acoustical Wall Systems

(1-inch) Track with 6-pcf fiberglass is our most popular acoustical system.

Providing excellent aesthetics and acoustics. The most cost effective layout is a single 5 ½’ band “rail-roaded” horizontally around the room. Two or more bands can be used to create whole wall coverage; this layout will not only provide the best acoustics and speech privacy but also will eliminate the need for painting and reduce wall prep (walls only need to be fire taped). The one-inch acoustical system is often used in conjunction with a (½ inch) tackable system.

Acoustics & Noise Reduction is often overlooked when designing rooms. Tech-Wall’s “Stretched Fabric Wall System” will vastly improve the acoustics in any room. By reducing the reverberation, speech will sound clearer and sound transmission between rooms will be reduced. This translates into a quieter study area and a more enjoyable learning environment. The standard reflective Vinyl wrapped panels are detrimental to the acoustics of a room.

TRACK-

The track holds the covering in place without the use of any adhesives. The importance of this is two fold. First it allows for the easy removal and replacement of the covering. Second, un-backed fabrics are used. Backed or glued fabrics (coverings) are NOT acoustically transparent and will lower the NRC of the panel. Some of the other advantages of a “track system” are; the track will automatically scribe to most conditions, almost unlimited panel sizes and shapes, NO field measurements needed, little or no lead time and gives a high-tech look that is impossible for wrapped panels to accomplish.

FABRICS & COVERINGS-

We recommend the use of one of the many Acoustical & Tackable Panel Fabrics offered by Guilford of Maine. Made from post-consumer and post-industrial recycled polyester (soda bottles, Guilford of Maine fabrics have the strength and durability to withstand years of use and still look as great as the day that they were installed.

ACOUISTAL CORE-

Typically, we recommend that you specify a (1 inch) 6 pcf fiberglass-board when you plan to use our “Stretched Fabric Wall System” for acoustical wall panels. The core is what gives our system it’s high NRC rating. Acoustic and fire test data is readily available for this product, please contact your local Tech-Wall sales representative for more product information and specifications.

LEAD-TIME – Something you will not have to worry about when you use Tech-Wall’s Stretched-Fabric Wall Systems! In most cases Lead-times are one week or less!

How It Works-

First the track is installed on the perimeter of the area to be covered. The core material is then fitted inside the perimeter of the track. A covering is then stretched tight and tucked into the track’s jaws. The finished product will not loosen, sag or dimple in year round conditions. Unlike pre-made wrapped panels field measurements are rarely needed, lead time is not a problem and the track and core can be installed while the job site is still dirty, leaving the covering to be installed towards the end of the project. The importance of this cannot be overstated; on large “FAST TRACK” projects this is the only way a crew can install the large amount of panels in the short allotted time.

Durability & Sustainability!

Tech-Wall’s (½ inch) Stretched Fabric Wall System will turn a drab classroom into a high-tech learning environment. Teachers and students love having the walls to use as a canvas. Whether used as learning walls, hanging up student’s work or even decorating for holidays. Our (1/2 Inch) Tackable Stretched Fabric Wall System will stand up to years of use. Backed by the only free 15-year fabric replacement program, Tech-Wall has the best warranty in the industry.

Layout-

The ½ inch Tackable/Acoustical is the most popular system for Student Housing. Providing a useful wall surface with excellent aesthetics and acoustics. The most cost effective layout is a single 5½’ band “rail-roaded” horizontally around the room. Two or more bands can be used to create whole wall coverage; this layout will not only provide the best acoustics and speech privacy but also will eliminate the need for painting, reduce wall prep and future wall maintenance (walls only need to be fire taped).

TRACK-

Our (1/2 Inch) square profile track Is one of the most popular, because the system provides the perfect balance between acoustics and Tackability. This track can be used as both perimeter and intermediate as well as for inside corners simplifying the planning and installation process.

FABRICS & COVERINGS-

Again we recommend the use of one of the many Acoustical & Tackable Panel Fabrics offered by Guilford of Maine. Made from post-consumer and post-industrial recycled polyester (soda bottles, Guilford of Maine fabrics have the strength and durability to withstand years of use and still look as great as the day that they were installed.

Important Note: (Vinyl coverings & Backed-fabrics) are NOT acoustically transparent and will negate the NRC of the panel. These types of fabrics may also show pinholes after a tack or staple is removed.

TACKABLE CORE –

Typically, we recommend that you specify a (½ inch) Flame resistant industrial insulation board or (FRIIB) Fiberboard. The core is what gives the system it’s superb tackabilty and acoustics (NRC rating).

ULTRASONIC WELDED MICRO-JOINT –

The covering is welded on an ultrasonic SM86 machine with 1/16-inch 90-degree cut-seal pattern wheel. This is done where an intermediate joint is not desired. The Micro-Joint is almost invisible. Important note – sewing coverings should never be done. For more information and pricing for this option please contact your local Tech-Wall Inc sales representative.
